Welcome to the MacCulloch School of Dancing

We are looking forward to 2010-2011, our 56th year of dance. Rae MacCulloch founded the MacCulloch School of Dancing in the Fall of 1954. Over the years over 4000 students have trained with the MacCulloch School.

Our performing troupe, The MacCulloch Dancers, celebrates Canada's rich multi-cultural identity through lively presentations of Highland and Canadian Step Dancing. The traditional dances of early Canadian settlers are danced to the lively tunes of Scotland's bagpipes and the Irish, French and Scottish fiddle and accordion. The music includes clogs, jigs, reels and hornpipes. The troupe has met with much success on the international scene. The MacCulloch Dancers have represented Canada in Disney World, Florida, Idaho and Utah, USA, Puerto Rico, the Republic of China, Spain, Mexico, Belgium, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, France, Scotland and Russia. In August of 2005, the MacCulloch Dancers and the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band of Ontario, Canada had the great honor of performing for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

The MacCulloch School of Dancing is welcoming new students, children and teens, boys and girls, from beginner to advanced levels this September 2010.

We are proud to present our newly updated website.

First - a big thank you to Andy Kaleta. It was Andy who first brought the MacCulloch School of Dancing to the web. Andy, the father of two of our former dancers, Michelle and Stephanie Kaleta, has volunteered his support to the MacCulloch School in an impressive variety of roles. He has been our web-master, event manager, chairperson, stage manager, and master of ceremonies and was instrumental in helping the MacCulloch Dancers in achieving a Guinness Record. In 2004, our founder, Rae MacCulloch led 504 students of the MacCulloch School of Dancing, past and present in a massed production of Highland & Step Dancing, breaking a Guinness World Record.

Recently, Rae MacCulloch's nephew, David MacCulloch has joined our team as web-master. We are thrilled with the results and invite you to peruse our newly updated website. We will be keeping you updated on our school events and our message board "Dance Talk" will be the perfect avenue for seeking information on upcoming events, snow days and a calendar of dates to remember. Log in and join our message board. We look forward to hearing from you.

We remember how our mother, Rae MacCulloch, treasured the times she spent with her students and look forward to creating many more happy memories in the future.

We welcome you to the 2010-2011 season.
